If you have a very steep roof, dormers can break up the endless look of shingles.
Dormers can also add significant light to bedrooms. This is most importantly an inexpensive project!

Dress up your deck

Something as simple as replacing the top rail (where your put your drinks) is a good way to modernize your deck. The top rail, also bears the brunt of the sun, so it needs replacing every 2-3 years anyway. If your rail is only 4" wide consider using an 6 or 8" wide top rail which allows for holding drinks and dinner plates.

I pulled up to a traffic light today to see a competitors van that listed at least 25 things they do from carpet to capentry. It looked like a phone book. I have interviwed hundreds of potential employees and have yet to interview this superhandyman.  Be careful of people who say they are great at everything.

Your house needs a smile

It is not hard to replace that standard front door with a door with sidelights. (that is glass on the sides). It adds so much light to your foyer and not to mention significant updated look from the outside. If you have had s standard painted door changed to a stained wood grain look can make a huge difference.

This can be a goldmine

If you unfinished space over your garage you have a goldmine. We have turned this spaces into laundry rooms, gyms, holiday rooms -where you wrap presents and store decorations. These make great rooms for teenagers or just reading room.

You can even improve this

If you are buying a home or looking rot build one, consider this, have the laundry room where all the dirty clothes are. This is normally where the bedrooms are, specifically kid's bedrooms. It amazes me how many laundry rooms are either on the first floor or in the basement. The problem is the bedrooms are normally on he second floor. If you already are in home that your are planning on staying in, just move the laundry room. Many people have guest room they never use. Idea: consider cutting that room in half. This will allow a larger closet for someone, whoever's room is behind the given area, as well as, having sufficient room to add a laundry room. Turn your existing laundry room into a mudroom or pantry.

Dress up that old fireplace

If you have a traditional red brick fireplace. You can replace the bricks with a prefabricated stacked stone. It is siimple and dramatically changes the appearance. (Allied concrete has some great selections).
